Potential Toxins
There are numerous items that can be dangerous to your pet if
ingested.  We are certainly not able to list all of the potentially toxic
substances here, however we will give you some of the most
common so that you may be aware and alert to the risk.  A more

Human Foods
- Alcoholic beverages and illicit drugs
- Chocolate
- Coffee
- Garlic
- Macadamia nuts
- Moldy or spoiled foods
- Onions, onion powder
- Raisins and grapes
- Yeast dough
- Xylitol- a common artificial sweetener, often used in chewing gum

Environmental and Household
- Antifreeze
-Cocoa Mulch- sold at many major hardware and household stores
- Coins
- Compost piles
- Mice and rat poison
- Many other pest baits, especially those containing methomyl &        
metaldehyde
- Many over-the-counter flea products (Frontline and Advantage are
  sold over-the-counter and are virtually the only safe products in       
  this category)
- Mothballs
- Paint Balls

Human Medications
- Anti-cancer medications
- Antidepressants
- Cold medicines
- Diet Pills
- Pain killers- including Tylenol and Advil
- Psoriasis creams
- Vitamins
