Radiographs and ultrasounds are very important diagnostic tools
that we utilize to help us provide the most thorough diagnostics
and most complete care for your pet.
Radiographs
Our diagnostic capabilities are greatly enhanced through the use
of our radiology suite. We can perform diagnostic x-rays, process
the films, and do an initial evaluation on site. All of our
radiographs are sent to a board certified radiologist for review.
In order to obtain the best radiographs, we may need to sedate or
anesthetize your pet. We may admit your pet for radiographs to be
taken the same day as your appointment if the condition is urgent
or we may schedule a later date for you to admit your pet.
Ultrasound
The same board certified radiologist who reviews our x-rays also
travels to our facility once a week to perform ultrasounds on our
patients. If the condition is urgent we can refer you to a facility
where they have on site ultrasound equipment in order to obtain
results more quickly.
If your pet requires more in-depth radiographic studies or other
imaging such as MRI we will refer you to the most appropriate
facility.
